The facts, nothing but the facts.
Okay, I was born in a tiny little mining town in the jungles of Ecuador. This was so
long ago that travel was by boat, horseback and mules.
Truth.
My dad was a mining engineer. My entire childhood was spent in mining camps in South America.
At eleven, when schooling was no longer available in the mining camp,
I went away to boarding schools and went home only on vacations.
I was the bookish sort, my nose always buried in a book, whatever interested me at the
moment. I read Nancy Drew and Thomas Costain with equal pleasure. I wrote. I read more.
I'd always thought I'd marry a mining engineer and carry on family tradition. Instead, after
earning a degree in History/Latin American Affairs, I married a semiconductor engineer
whose job took us to Europe. We lived first in Italy, then Scotland and finally England.
If I'd know that I would one day be writing Regencies, I'd have paid more attention to living
in Jane Austen country. As it was, we returned to the US, settled in Arizona, then California
where we lived for the next gazillion years.
Along the way came children, a career in Information Technology, grandchildren and all
the family events. My husband and I became guardians to two grandsons, and after he died, my daughter became co-guardian. We left our
home in California to move to the inland Northwest. It was a good move, but do I ever
miss the ocean!
Being an unabashed romantic, I love to watch the waves for hours on end. Sunrises and sunsets
are my favorites, ergo the new look to my web pages.
I like to combine my love of writing, history and travel by producing
South America for Visitors for About.com.
Please visit me there for a look at another of my passions--traveling
spectacular South America!
I hope you'll check my pages out and return again and again!
